BrachioPlasma™ Overview

Losing a moderate amount of weight, as well as the natural aging process can leave behind loose skin that can be annoying and unappealing. In some areas, it becomes more bothersome, and both men and women will look at treatment options. Dr. Kesh Nawada offers an alternative solution to a surgical skin tightening arm lift, Brachioplasty, which at one time was one of the only options available. Today, using plasma technology, Dr. Nawada can perform a cosmetic procedure known as BrachioPlasma™, which uses tiny incisions to insert a device that emits plasma beams to tighten the skin without long, unsightly incisions and scarring. While a surgical arm lift (known as Brachioplasty) can offer lasting, dramatic results, it does leave scarring that cannot be avoided.          For patients with minimal sag, the BrachioPlasma™ arm lift can provide the desired results without surgery.

BrachioPlasma™ Surgical Technique

BrachioPlasma™ is performed using Power-Assisted Liposuction (PAL) and J-Plasma® helium energy to tighten the soft tissues below the skin. Unlike traditional lasers, J-Plasma® energy can be administered under the skin (subcutaneously) because it uses energized helium to create a plasma energy field (75% less of the thermal load of a CO2 laser). When introduced under the skin, it causes immediate and often dramatic skin tightening.  There is no significant scarring because only several very small incisions (~5 millimeters in size) are needed. The entire procedure is done with local anesthetic and IV sedation and usually takes less than an hour and the recovery can be as short as 3 – 5 days.

BrachioPlasma® FAQs

What’s the Downtime?

The downtime associated with BrachioPlasma™ can vary depending on how large of an area is treated, however, most patients need only between 3 – 5 days to recover and feel back to normal. Our team of medical assistants will fit the patient in a post-surgical compression garment that should be worn following surgery. Even though patients can resume normal activities rather quickly, vigorous exercise should be held off for a couple weeks after treatment.

Does It Work ?

Yes, this treatment has been proven to work and has shown excellent outcomes. Unlike some other devices that only provide minimal improvements, BrachioPlasma™ results in immediate skin tightening with additional tightening still occurring from 2 – 4 weeks after the initial treatment. Our patients are amazed at the results! Dr. Nawada sees results similar to traditional surgical techniques that would leave much larger scars. That’s what makes J-Plasma® so great.

How Much Does It Cost?

For Upper Arm BrachioPlasma™ the cost is approximately $3,000 to $4,000.  Dr. Nawada offers thorough consultations so that all of the options can be discussed and a treatment plan created to attain the right results.
