Winter Haven, FL plastic surgeon, Dr. Kesh Nawada, known throughout the community for introducing minimally invasive treatments that result in outstanding outcomes. One of the latest and greatest tools for surgeons to hit the Aesthetic Marketplace is Renuvion®'s J-Plasma® technology, to resurface the skin. It is used to perform J-Ablate™, a skin resurfacing treatment that uses a Cool Helium application to the outer layer of skin, heating it precisely and with accuracy so that the surrounding tissue remains healthy. This technique removes the outer layer of skin (epidermis), similar to laser skin resurfacing using an ablative approach, but without burning the deeper dermal layers so that just enough heat is used to cause contraction of the skin. Depending on the area being treated and the depth of the wrinkles, J-Ablate™ can be applied numerous times (passes), in one session to attain the desired results.
Sun damage and wrinkles diminish leaving a softer more youthful skin texture and tone. The skin is tightened and lifted.
J-Ablate™ is recommended for patients with mild to moderate skin conditions. Before Renuvion®, patients would have to consider a surgical Facelift with a Combined, Laser Resurfacing procedure to achieve similar results. While those methods are still popular, and widely used today, J-Ablate™ is excellent for turning back the hands of time, with downtime of about two weeks, with no scarring or pigment loss (no de-pigmentation). J-Ablate™ can be performed on numerous areas of the body. Call Dr. Nawada and schedule your consultation to learn more.
Lip Wrinkle Reduction@headingTag>
The peri-oral region, or area around the mouth, is one of the areas that benefit the most from J- Ablate™. Additionally, because of the ability of Renuvion®'s Cool Plasma technology to cause tissue contraction, lips that become thin with age can be brought back to a more naturally fuller, youthful, shape, by lifting the lip margin and shortening the lip length between the nose and the upper lip without surgery! This lifting of the lips is genuinely a lovely discovery! Ask Dr. Nawada about it at your Consultation with him!

before and After Your J-Ablate@headingTag>
Before your procedure, at your initial consultation, you will fill out a Skin Evaluation Form and discuss with Dr. Nawada and his Nurse, your general health status and habits and determine what your aesthetic skin improvement goals are, and be recommended a clinical skin care program with suggested products for you.
Dr. Nawada highly recommends the use of the appropriate skin care products to prepare your skin in advance of your procedure. But also, using those products afterward to maintain your newly acquired beautiful results post-procedure is vital. At Nawada Plastic Surgery, we like the SkinCeuticals® mantra, " Correct" (previous damage). "Prevent" (signs of future damage) and "Protect" (healthy skin)."
After having J-Ablate™, you may experience swelling and redness of the treated areas. Avoiding the sun in the weeks following your procedure is critical. Healing takes approximately two weeks. Dr. Nawada and his Nursing Staff will provide you with specific post-ablative instructions and products to help your skin heal faster and optimize your results. (These are different healing products than the pre and post products).
At about three weeks following J-Ablate™, most patients are back to the regular wearing of makeup, although some pinkness can remain for up to 3 months. We will be with you as your healing progresses and help you to monitor your progress.
Is J-Ablate Right For Me?@headingTag>
Dr. Nawada recommends that J-Ablate™ only be performed on men and women of relatively fair skin, which on the Fitzpatrick Scale, are Fitzpatrick I to III. Typically, patients who have a darker complexion, such as Latino and African Americans. Fitzpatrick IV, V & VI, are not good candidates for this type of procedure, because skin with more melanin in it, has the potential for hyperpigmentation or scarring. However, there are other nonsurgical options available that may offer a better outcome for darker skin types. The use of appropriate skin care products, Sciton®'s BroadBand Light™ procedures (BBL™ and ForverYoungBBL™) and also, injectable neuromodulators such as BotoxCosmetic® or Dysport® and an appropriate HA Filler in the proper area of need, can also help give you a more amazing youthful look! Dr. Nawada will listen to your needs and discuss any of the alternative recommendations if needed.
